FEBS Workshop Regulations

  • The maximum number of participants at the FEBS Workshop is restricted to 100.
  • About 50% of participants must be young scientists (PhD and postdoctoral fellows within 5 years after obtaining their PhDs).
  • All-inclusive registration fee is € 460.



FEBS Youth Travel Funds (YTF) & Transcontinental TransYTF Grants

 

With the support of FEBS (FEBS Youth Travel Funds) we are able to support a maximum of 20 students (15 for participants coming from European countries, 5 for students from non-European countries). For those young scientists receiving a FEBS Youth Travel Grant (PhD students or young scientists having obtained their PhD degree not longer than five years ago), travel costs (80% for young scientists from Western Europe, 100% for young scientists from Eastern Europe) and the whole registration fee including accommodation and full board is covered by FEBS.

Applicants should –

  • either be registered as a student at an institution of higher learning in a country where there is a FEBS Constituent Society or be within five years of having completed a PhD thesis.
  • must be a member of a national FEBS Constituent Society
  • not have received a grant from the Youth travel fund to attend an Advanced Course in the current year.

Application

Youth Travel Grants applications should include (i) a title, (ii) abstract (see abstract format), (iii) CV, (iv) letter of recommendation by supervisor.

For selected Young Scientists

Selected Young Scientists will be informed by the Scientific Committee of MiP2010. They will receive an application form by FEBS and must return the filled-in original forms to FEBS, who will arrange for payments (details will be provided).

Through the YTF Application Forms the selected candidates are asked to provide information on:

  • Personal data
  • In which country he/she is a student
  • Which FEBS Constituent Society he/she is a member of (proof of membership is mandatory)
  • Present position / present work / two recent publications if applicable
  • Amount of money requested and any other financial support
  • Has he/she received a grant from FEBS in the past two years
  • Modes of payment.
