Mid July is the top summer season in this area, popular for mountain walking and climbing. The magnificent alpine flora is blooming at this time, and our walks will take us through the most beautiful plant reserve of Vorarlberg.
The culture and history of alpine farming in this area famous for the Alp cheese will be explained (cheese will be tasted) at an excursion to the Alpmuseum, which is unique in Austria.
The evenings at the altitue of 1400 m may be chilly, and the surrounding mountain tops may receive snowfall even during summer. Therefore, one travels to the Alps prepared. For walking tours, good shoes, a raincoat and warm pullover are advantageous. No specific mountaineering equipment is required for excursions. A bathing suit could be recommended for an adventurous swim in the chilly lake Körbersee or Kalbelesee.
