Info

Dr. Friederich-Persson’s graduate studies focused on investigating the role of mitochondrial uncoupling via Uncoupling protein-2 in the relation to renal oxygenation and thus, its relation to development of diabetic nephropathy.

Currently, as a postdoc at the Institute of Cardiovascular Medicine at Glasgow University, her project centers on mitochondrial function in adipose tissue during metabolic syndrome as well as the relationship between perivascular adipose tissue and development of vascular disease.
