Description

Carnitine acetyltransferase (CrAT) is located in the mitochondrial matrix and catalyses the formation of acetyl-carnitine from acetyl-CoA and L-carnitine and thus regulates the acetyl-CoA/free CoA ratio which is essential for pyruvate dehydrogense complex (PDC) activity.

Abbreviation: CrAT
