Octanoate

Description

Octanoate (octanoic acid). C8H16O2 Common name: Caprylic acid.

Abbreviation: Oca

Application in HRR

Oca: Octanoate (Sodium Octanoate; Sigma C 5038, 10 g, store at RT; M = 166.19 g·mol-1.
Preparation of 10 mM stock solution (dissolved in H2O):
  1. Weigh 11.619 mg Octanoate.
  2. Add 10 mL dt H2O.
  3. Divide into 0.5 mL portions.
  4. Store frozen at -20 °C.
