Gespraechsnotiz 2nd MitoCom Workshop

H. Insam berichtet über seine Erfahrungen mit dem K-Regio Projekt BioTreat. Neben einer prinzipiell positiven Beurteilung hebt er hervor, dass er aus heutiger Sicht das Projekt mit weniger Partnern (statt 12) starten würde, sowie als Rechtsform einen Verein oder eine GmbH statt eine Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts wählen würde. Als besondere Vorteile hebt er die nachhaltige Schaffung von neuen Kontakten / Kooperationen sowie die Gründung eines Spinoff Unternehmens hervor.

E. Gnaiger (OROBOROS INSTRUMENTS) hebt die vorhanden Kompetenz an zahlreichen Einzelstandorten in Innsbruck hervor und erläutert die Motivation seitens von OROBOROS INSTRUMENTS, nicht nur mitochondrielle Komptenzzentren an verschiedenen internationalen Standorten auszurüsten sondern ein solches auch in Innsbruck zu schaffen.

Thomas Hugl (Ergopspect) hebt die Bedeutung eines Zentrums, das die verschieden Methoden kombiniert und weiterentwickelt, für das Marketing seiner Firma hervor.

A. Hansel (Ionimed) erläutert, dass Ionimed interessiert ist, die Analyse von VCs (volatile components) mit anderen analytischen Techniken zu kombinieren, eine Abluftanalytik für Sportler aufzubauen und dabei insbesondere in Zusammenarbeit mit der Sportmedizin die tatsächliche Relevanz der gemessenen Parameter (zB NH3) abzuklären.

M. Burtscher (Inst. für Sportwissenschaften) erklärt die derzeitige Tätigkeit seines Instituts im Bereich der Leistungsdiagnostik. Hier sind gute Verfahren zB für cardiovaskuläre Untersuchungen des Gesamtorganismus etabliert, es fehlen aber Methoden um zB den Zustand eines Muskels besser zu beurteilen (mitochondrielle Funktion), sowie die Erfassung weiterer Zusatzparameter, welche die Atemgasanalytik liefern könnte. In diesem Zusammenhang wird zu verschiedenen Zeitpunkten die Akzeptant für analytische Methoden mit unterschiedlichen Graden an Invasivität (Muskelbiopsie, Blutprobe, Atemgasanalyse) diskutiert. Respirometrische Messungen erfordern bis jetzt häufig eine Muskelbiopsie, aber E. Gnaiger verweist auf eine Publikation, die versucht, ähnliche Rückschlüsse aus Thrombozyten (Blutproben) zu gewinnen. M. Burtscher zeigt sich interessiert. Ein Vergleich der Ergebnisse Muskelbiopsie/ Thrombozyten könnte Teil des Projektes sein mit dem Ziel, gleichwertige Information lediglich durch eine Blutprobe zu gewinnen.

Nach der ersten Runde fasst Petra Stöckl (Standortagentur Tirol) zusammen, dass ein Diagnostikzentrum mit Fokus auf Leistungsdiagnostik realistisch erscheint und stellt folgende Fragen:

A: Ist die notwendige Bandbreite an Methoden von den Partnern abgedeckt? Fehlen Methoden (Partner)?

B: Wer kann nun als Zielgrupe „Kunden“ festgeschrieben werden?

M. Burtscher führt bereits existierende Kundengruppen für Leistungsdiagnostik auf: sportmedizinische Praxen (die nicht nur Spitzensportler betreuen!), Zentren für Spitzensportler aber auch Leistungsdiagnostiker, die zB auch im Bereich Fitnessstudios arbeiten.

Als mögliche Ausweitung der Produktpallete / des Kundenkreises erwähnt Rainer Schneider (Inst. Biochemie) diverse Bewegungsstörungen.

O. Galvan und C. Pototschnig (HNO) berichten über den Einsatz von Trainings- und Ernährunsprogrammen bei Tumorpatienten. Alle Methoden, die geeignet erscheinen, den Trainingseffekt zu quantifizieren, bieten sich hier an. Bei solchen Patienten wird manchmal auch ein Gerät zur elektrischen Muskelstimulation der Fa MedEl eingesetzt, was MedEl zu einem potentiellen Partner macht. Der Einsatz von speziellen Nahrungsmitteln zum Konditionsaufbau bei diesen Patienten macht die Herstellerfirmen dieser Nahrungsmittel zu potentiellen Kunden von Wirksamkeitsstudien.

Armin Hansel (Ionimed) möchte den Antrag auf ein Vorzeigeprojekt beschränken, das in 2-3 Jahren auch tatsächlich durchführbar ist. Insbesondere verweist er darauf, dass komplette klinische Studien (für eine Behandlungsmethode, oder eine Nahrungsmittelergänzung) in diesem Rahmen nicht machbar sein. Er plädiert daher für eine starke Fokussierung auf „Sport“. Die Vertreter der HNO stellen jedoch klar, dass keineswegs an komplette klinische Studien gedacht sei, eher an begleitende Analytik bereits angewandter Behandlungsmethoden.

Walther Parson (Gerichtsmedizin) erklärt, dass die Gerichtsmedizin am Aufbau einer mitochondriellen DNA Datenbank arbeitet. Die Qualitätsüberprüfung von mitochondrieller DNA und in Folge die Zuordnung eines Individuums zu einer mitochondriellen Haplogruppe, könnte insbesondere für Sportler (Leistungsdiagnostik) von Interesse sein. W. Parson weist darauf hin, dass es einer großen Stichprobe bedarf, um eine mögliche Korrelation zwischen Haplotypen und Phänotypen nachzuweisen.

E. Gnaiger erklärt, dass das geplante K-Regio Projekt ein Standbein im klinischen Bereich Med.Univ. / TILAK benötigt, auch um die entsprechende Laborkapazität zu haben, eventuell könnte es sich auch um eine mobile Laboreinheit handeln. Es kommen mehrere Partner in Frage, die jedoch heute großteils nicht anwesend sind und noch kontaktiert werden müssen. Von anderen Teilnehmern wird auch darauf hingewiesen, dass eine entsprechende Anbindung auch im Sinne der ärztlichen Betreuung sinnvoll erscheint (die jedoch auch über die Sportmedizin gegeben ist).

In einer Diskussion wird festgehalten, dass der Bedarf für ein „zentrales Labor“ aus der Sicht von Ionimed (A. Hansel) für die Atemgasanalysen nicht, aber aus der Sicht von Oroboros Instruments (M. Fasching) für die respirometrischen Analysen / Probennahme sehr wohl gegeben ist.

P. Stöckl schlägt vor, dass als nächster Schritt eine Kerngruppe von Firmenpartnern weitere Planungsarbeiten übernehmen soll. Unabhängig von den direkten Gesprächen, die nun unmittelbar beginnen sollen, wird ein Treffen am Institut für Sportwissenschaften für den 3. Feb. 2011, 15:30, fixiert.

Gespraechsnotiz 1st MitoCom Workshop

Hintergrund

Das Projekt „MitoCom“ könnte zur Entstehung eines Forschungs- und Diagnostik-Zentrums für Klinische Physiologie und Pathologie der Mitochondrien mit state-of-the-art Ausstattung für bioenergetische Untersuchungen führen. Alle, die an einer Kooperation in diesem Bereich interessiert sind, wurden vorab von Herrn Gnaiger (Oroboros Instruments) als Hauptinitiator mit Unterstützung der TZS zu diesem Impulsgespräch eingeladen. Mit dem heutigen Gespräch sollen Ideen gesammelt werden, wie so ein Kompetenzzentrum ausschauen könnte bzw. welche Kompetenzen aus Sicht der Teilnehmer angeboten werden können.

Ergebnisse

Nach einer kurzen Vorstellungsrunde der einzelnen Teilnehmer und deren Tätigkeitsfelder kristallisieren sich folgende Schwerpunkte für das Angebot eines Kompetenzzentrums heraus:

• High-Tech Plattform für Messungen (Zertifizierungsstelle)
• Mitochondriale Diagnostik für Anwendung im Sport/Leistungssport
• Diagnostik von mitochondrialen Erkrankungen
• Gesundes Altern (Haut, Muskel, Blutgefäße) – im weiteren Sinne auch bei Tieren (artgerechte Haltung) – Prävention von Erkrankungen
• Grundlagenforschung bzw. Auftragsforschung (u.a. Krebsforschung,…)

Grundsätzlich sind alle Besprechungsteilnehmer an dieser Projektidee interessiert. Angedacht wäre ein K-Regio (Programmvorstellung durch Rudolf Stoffner) der TZS als erster Schritt. Vor allem der regionale Hintergrund des Kompetenzzentrums sollte im Vordergrund stehen, Internationalisierungsmaßnahmen (EU-Projekte) mit internationalen Partnern sollten erst nach erhöhtem Bekanntheitsgrad und Erfahrungssammlung in Angriff genommen werden.

Weiters ist zu überlegen bei Einreichung eines K-Regios ein klar definiertes Produkt bzw. Dienstleistung mit kommerziellem Hintergrund aufzuzeigen. Eine Idee für ein Endprodukt könnte zB: die örtliche Vernetzung und enge Zusammenarbeit von unterschiedlichen Kompetenzen sein.

Weitere Schritte

Der nächste Call für die Einreichung findet voraussichtlich von Feber bis April 2011 statt. Aus diesem Grund werden die Teilnehmer gebeten für das nächste Treffen am 18.01.2011 konkrete Vorschläge für ein Kernprodukt/-dienstleistung zu sammeln. Auch sollte sich in der nächsten Sitzung das Kernteam (4 bis 5 Partner) herauskristallisieren, welches sich in den darauffolgenden Wochen mit der Antragsstellung befassen wird.
