Einleitung
MitoCom EAGLE ist ein regionales Projekt, welches sich die Entwicklung einer außergewöhnlichen Datenbank als Ziel gesetzt hat. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine Datenbank, die für jeden Wissenschaftler/ jede Wissenschaftlerin öffentlich zugänglich ist und die die Sammlung und Zusammenführung der Daten aller Studien vorsieht. Diese Datenbank ist eine Innovation, die bis heute weder auf regionaler noch globaler Ebene in dieser Art zu finden ist und eine neue Basis für die Wissenschaft darstellt.
EAGLE is the key node strengthening the network between established omics (gen/proteo/metabol) and lifestyle physiology databases (spiroergometry; anthropometry; nutrition; general lifestyle and environment; preventive medicine; pathology; clinical and pharmacological interventions). MitoCom will provide a unique offer in the programmes of recreation, sports, wellness, life style monitoring and preventive medicine. The collaboration with established regional initiatives will demonstrate the benefits for a widespread translation of the expertise gained by the current research, with direct applications of the possibilities offered by the MitoCom EAGLE database. The EAGLE database and MitoCom Centre of Excellence will provide a cornerstone for the leadership of the mitochondrial monitoring instruments developed and marketed by OROBOROS INSTRUMENTS. The O2k-Core and NextGen-O2k will be further established as the gold standard for generating data with the reliability required for the EAGLE database. Standardized protocols developed by the EAGLE project will be streamlined for applications of the OROBOROS O2k. This will lead to a significant expansion of the world-wide market for the O2k in the transition from a well established specialized research tool to a standard biomedical instrument.
