MitoEAGLE

        • Benefits for COST and for the COST Action MitoEAGLE
Actually we are increasingly involved in studies on mitochondrial respiration. One of our major topic is mitochondrial respiration in animal models of hemorrhagic and septic shock. Here we are starting several studies supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. In addition, we recently started analyzing mitochondrial respiration in rodent models of neurodegenerative diseases as well as in muscle biopsies from humans also with focus on neurodegenerative diseases. Furthermore, we also went on with studies of mitochondrial respiration in different short as well as long living species, here mainly in different species of subterranean rodents like the naked mole rat as well as other "mole rats".
