Description
Octanoylcarnitine is a medium-chain fatty acid (octanoic acid: eight-carbon saturated fatty acid) covalently linked to carnitine, frequently applied as a substrate for fatty acid oxidation (FAO) in mitochondrial preparations.

- Alternative: (ยฑ)-Octanoylcarnitine chloride, BioTrend, Cat. No. BS0136, 50 mg, store desiccate at RT; FW = 323.86.
Caution: Chemicals stored in the fridge or freezer should be allowed to reach room temperature before opening.
- Preparation of 100 mM stock solution (dissolved in H2O):
